Economic empowerment is essential to the freedom and progress of any community. At the Association of Africans and Caribbean Network (AACN), we believe that entrepreneurship is a key driver of stability, growth, and generational wealth. That’s why we’re committed to uplifting African and Caribbean entrepreneurs in Central Texas and beyond.
Whether it’s a food truck serving jollof rice, a tech startup led by a second-generation African-American, or a local hairstylist keeping Caribbean braiding traditions alive, our people are creating, innovating, and leading. Yet many face systemic challenges accessing capital, legal support, or mentorship.
AACN's Black Business Summit and Entrepreneurial Leadership Forums were launched to change that. These events offer practical workshops, peer networking, and exposure to resources like microloans, grant opportunities, and business law clinics. We connect aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs to industry leaders and organizations that can support their growth.
Our Small Business Spotlight series also shines a light on local African and Caribbean businesses, giving them visibility through our website and social platforms. We are building an ecosystem of support where our businesses thrive—not just survive.
In addition, AACN is advocating for public and private investment into immigrant- and minority-owned ventures. Economic equity isn’t just good policy—it’s essential for long-term community resilience.
