This draft explains how the Association of Africans and Caribbean Network (AACN) intends to handle personal information on this website. The organization must review it before adopting it as its policy.
Forms and personal information
Our inquiry, volunteer and sponsorship forms ask for names, email addresses and other details relevant to your request. Some forms ask for a phone number, interests, availability or organization details. Please do not include card details, identity documents, medical information or other sensitive information in a message.
When you submit a form, your entries are saved securely and can be seen only by AACN staff who handle inquiries. A confirmation message means AACN has received your request.
We use this information to respond to inquiries and to coordinate volunteering or sponsorship with your consent.
A hidden form field helps identify automated spam. Completing a form is not consent to marketing messages.
If you join our newsletter, we store your email address and your consent so we can send occasional AACN updates. You can ask us at any time to remove you from the list.
Donations through PayPal
When you donate online, the Donate button takes you to PayPal rather than a payment form on this website.
Donations are processed securely by PayPal. We never see your card details.
PayPal handles payment information under its own privacy policy. AACN may receive donor and transaction information provided by PayPal; the organization must confirm which information it receives and its recordkeeping arrangements before donations are enabled.
Cookies and outside services
The current AACN page code does not add advertising cookies or a dedicated analytics service. Hosting and outside services may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the page requested. Their practices must be reviewed before this draft is finalized.
This site loads fonts from Google. When configured, the event calendar loads a Google Calendar frame, and the Facebook Page plugin loads when its section comes into view. A featured YouTube player loads only after you choose to load the video and uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player. These services may use cookies or similar storage; privacy-enhanced mode does not mean no data is shared.
Social profile links, sharing buttons, Google Maps and PayPal take you to outside services. Your use of those services is governed by their policies. You can manage cookies in your browser, although blocking them may affect embedded content.
Children’s data and photographs
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Children under 13 should not submit these forms. If you believe a child’s information has been provided, contact AACN so the organization can investigate and arrange deletion where applicable.
Photos of minors require written parent or guardian consent before publication. The organization must confirm that consent is recorded before adding such photos. Contact AACN if you have a concern about a photograph.
Your choices and questions
You may ask AACN about personal information you have provided or request a correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent. Some donation records may need to be retained to meet legal requirements; retention periods still need organization review.
